HEALTH PROMOTION AND PREVENTION FACILITATOR

SafeTALK and Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST)

The Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA), Hamilton seeks two full-time Health Promotion and Prevention Facilitators to implement a LHIN 4 region-wide (Hamilton Niagara Haldimand Brant) strategy for mental health promotion, resilience and capacity building through an innovative strategy of mental health training and education, suicide prevention and collaborative planning.  

The facilitators are responsible for the delivery and coordination of mental health training/education through evidence-based training.  Target populations include; youth, emerging adults, families and caregivers, community agencies and the general public.   

One facilitator will deliver and coordinate Talking About Mental Illness (TAMI) and Mental Health First Aid (MHFA). The candidate must have thorough knowledge of the TAMI program and delivery of its services and must be a certified MHFA Canada instructor.

The second facilitator will deliver and coordinate SafeTALK and ASIST.  The candidate must be a registered trainer to deliver SafeTALK and ASIST workshops.

 All candidates must possess a university degree in a related health/social sciences/public education field with experience in mental health promotion. Candidates must be registered or eligible for registration in a professional college or association, if applicable.  This position requires a valid driverís license and access to a vehicle. French speaking is an asset.   Please quote competition #HPPF1214.
